The challenge
NPSMM brings together dealer fixed ops managers and the many Mercedes-Benz USA departments that support them. The goal is to get dealers excited about the programs coming from Mercedes-Benz, deliver training on key topics and, most importantly, put dealers face to face with executives and the teams behind those programs. Every system is connected to the home office, so each dealer can sit down and review their own data.
This was the restart of an annual program we have produced since 2004. The first call came about four months out, and the final decision left us eight weeks to produce everything: theme, video, general session and a full trade show.
Our solution
We developed the overall theme and look and feel, built the speaker lanes for the general session, and polished every presenter’s visuals for the ultra-wide screen. We designed all the booth wall backgrounds and every trade show and signage graphic.
We produced the opening video, including a two-day location shoot to capture a real day in the life of fixed ops. Library stock footage is consumer-facing and doesn’t say “we understand you,” and this audience needed to see themselves on screen.
We also served as the trade show decorator: online booth ordering, advance warehousing locally in Las Vegas, and coordination of setup and dismantle. On site we supplied the booth backwalls from our own rental inventory, all furniture and the trade show staff.
In the general session we provided all the audio-visual gear from our own stock, plus the running crew, an on-site graphic designer and operator, and stage management.
Eight weeks is extremely compressed for a program this size. We built a fast-track process for the backwalls and expanded our design team for more bandwidth. Video came first, since it needs shooting and editing time, but the theme and talking points had to be defined before we could shoot. We roughed those in to write the shot list, then refined the on-screen messaging once the communication pillars were approved.
Results
875+ attendees, with a new theme, an original opening video, a full general session and a complete trade show, all produced in eight weeks.
Two decades in, NPSMM is back, and Cadence is still the team behind it.
